Armon L. Mills, CPA, is Director of Practice Development for J.H. Cohn’s San Diego office and Southern California.  Prior to joining J.H. Cohn, Armon served as President and Publisher of The San Diego Business Journal, an award-winning weekly publication.  Armon began his career in public accounting, working at the national CPA firm of Fox & Company for 20 years.  He was recruited to American City Business Journals in 1984 as President and Chief Operations Officer.  He has also served as publisher of business publications in Phoenix and San Jose/Silicon Valley.

Armon has been active in many community organizations, including serving as chair of the Board of Directors of the San Jose/Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA of Santa Clara Valley and the Salvation Army of Santa Clara County.  He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau, Boy Scouts of America and Silicon Valley Chapter of the Commonwealth of California.  Armon was also an active member of the San Jose Rotary Club.

Armon is continuing his strong commitment to the community here in San Diego.  He is the current Chair of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Police Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors of LEAD San Diego and the San Diego Better Business Bureau. He is also a member of the Bridgepoint Holiday Bowl Committee and the San Diego Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl Committee. Armon is the Finance Chair of the New Majority of California and serves on their state board of directors.

Armon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration fromSouthwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. He also earned his Certified Public Accountant certificate from Kansas in 1967.  Armon is a life member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
