Dr. Mona Hacker

Dr. Mona Hacker is a board-certified family practice physician in San Diego, California.  A a child of immigrants from Bombay, India,  Dr. Mona studied science and art at University of California San Diego and spent summers traveling abroad volunteering in the hospitals of India.   She then pursued a medical degree at the University of California, Irvine,  served as president of her class, and volunteered in the jungles of Ecuador in mobile surgical units.

After completing her medical studies at UC Irvine, she spent three years in Seattle as a family practice resident and then served as chief resident at Swedish Hospital.

Dr. Mona has practiced medicine for the past 15 years. This has included a variety of settings including urgent care, office, and more recently in the realm of cutting-edge clinical research.  Currently, Dr. Hacker is a principal investigator for clinical trials in a variety of therapeutic areas.

As the mother of three children, she brings a broad, international perspective to the practice of medicine and care of her patients.  She has a passion for public speaking on important medical topics and frequently appears on local news media discussing popular news in medicine.
