Rusty is a versatile and results-driven leader with extensive experience in IT service management, systems alignment/integration, process improvement, project management, leadership development and coaching, team building, organizational assessments, strategic planning, and training development. Led multiple projects and initiatives to optimize enterprise-wide solutions and results that achieve performance excellence (ITILv3, ITSM, ServiceNow, Baldrige Framework (State Award), CMMI, Lean Six Sigma, ISO 9000). He holds a Gold Mastery Certification in Strategic Management from the Haines Centre for Strategic Management.

Consults as senior advisor for multiple IT Service Management projects with various clients using the ServiceNow platform. Develops and customizes business processes and procedures to meet key strategic initiatives and objectives related to core functions such as; Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Asset, Configuration, Request Fulfilment, Service Catalog, HR, and Facilities Management. He is a certified ITILv3 Expert (MALC) and has taught numerous ITILv3 Foundation certification courses. Certified ScrumMaster®, current Senior ASQ Member and Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE).

A certified consultant, trainer, and coach from Future Achievement International (FAI) in the MERIT Integrated Solutions™ suite of products and services designed to maximize Personal Leadership Effectiveness™ based on principles of character and behavior. Conducts personal and team diagnostics, as well as Human Capital Screen allowing executive leaders to assess organizational performance, leading to prioritized strategic initiatives. He served as the FAIs VP of Corporate Operations for two years developing systematic business processes to enhance support for the company’s strategic partners and clients.

Prior to FAI, he was employed with SAIC in San Diego, CA for over 10 years as a Senior Business Consultant. He served as the manager of the Program Operations team for a $1B+ program/contract with the United States Navy (SPAWAR) developing the network of the future for shipboard installations (CANES). Main responsibilities included the development and implementation of business processes and procedures across the program using the ITSM best practices and ITILv3 framework. He also used Lean Six Sigma methodology for process improvement efforts. Prior to this position he was the business process manager on a large software and systems development project, where he led the effort to achieve CMMI Level 5 certification and ISO 9001 certification.

Rusty started his career in the US Navy where he retired after 22 years of service. His last seven years he served as a Total Quality Leadership Specialist and ‘Train-The-Trainer’ where he taught advanced leadership development and training to over 1,000 senior leaders. He was certified by the Secretary of the Navy in 5 TQL courses and was also hand-selected and certified as a Strategic Planning Facilitator. His prior duty assignment and designation was as a Weapons System Supervisor, where he managed and led a team of 30+ highly trained operators and technicians on various guided-missile combat ships. Rusty served more than 15 years in various volunteer roles with the California Council for Excellence (CCE). He is the past Chair of the California Team Excellence Awards (CTEA) program and a previous examiner for the California Award for Performance Excellence (CAPE). He serves in a variety of community volunteer roles such as; the Center for Wealth and Legacy (Inspiration Awards Committee Chair), SHRM San Diego (Workplace Excellence Awards), & Maranatha Chapel (Growth Group Area Leader for 15 home fellowships).
